What this pattern actually is

You stopped. You did what you were told to do, and it worked — the porn is gone and you can tell anyone the date. And then, confusingly, it was not enough. She can still feel something. So can you, and you cannot name what it is.

That is not a failure of effort. It is a failure of the map.

This course is the map. What the pattern is, what it was doing for you, where it went when the porn stopped, and why the person closest to you can still read it when nothing at all is happening.

What you get

  • Four modules, sixteen lessons
  • Four downloads, one per module
  • Text-based and self-paced — nothing to attend, no group to join, no video you have to sit through

Purchasing isn’t open yet. The free guide is how you’ll hear when it is — and it is a fair test of whether the course is worth $197 to you.

Where this starts

You have been counting incidents.
She has been living in a climate.

You are somewhere ordinary. A gym, a coffee shop, a work function, a supermarket aisle. Someone walks in, or walks past, and before you have decided anything your attention has gone. Not just gone — gone and stayed. There is a second look. Then a third that you angle so it does not read as a look.

Nothing happened. Nobody saw. There is no incident to report and nothing to confess, and if she asked you directly what you were doing you would say “nothing” and you would mean it.

That is the part no measure you have agreed to track will ever pick up, and it is the part she has been reading for years without being able to name it. Not because she is suspicious. Because she has been sitting across from it.

Recovery that only reaches the first layer isn’t recovery. It’s quiet.

The pull is not toward the woman. It is toward the moment of appraisal — the half-second before anything. That is what the course is about, and it is why stopping the porn changed less than you expected it to.

What is in it

Four modules, sixteen lessons

Written to be read, not watched. Each module ends with a download you can print and work on, and none of them scores you or computes anything about you.

Read in order the first time through. After that it is a reference, and most men come back to module two.

One — Recognising what you actually have

Starts with recognition rather than a definition. By the end you have a map with five parts, and you know which part the work you have already done actually reached.

  • What you already know about yourself
  • The five features that identify this pattern
  • What automatic and intentional actually mean
  • Why nothing physical happening is not the point

Two — What the brain is reaching for

The engine of the whole structure, and the part that keeps running after the visible behaviour stops. This is the module most men come back to.

  • The wanting system, not the liking system
  • What the pattern was actually regulating
  • Why stopping porn is not the same as recovery
  • The escalation pattern, and where you are on it

Three — What the harm actually was

The hardest thing this course asks: to hold, accurately and without defending, what this cost the person you love.

  • What she was living in
  • The contamination of every shared memory
  • The word that fits
  • What she needs that is not reassurance

Four — What the pattern was for, and what comes next

The layer everything else was built on top of. Names it, sets out the two systems you will be working with, and describes what real change looks like from the inside so you can tell it from performance.

  • What your history explains and what it doesn’t excuse
  • The two systems you are working with
  • What genuine change looks like from the inside
  • The beginning of a different map

What this course will not do

It will not tell you what kind of man you are. There is no test in it, no score, no total and no line to be above or below. Nothing in it computes a result about you, and nothing in it tells you what you have or do not have — it is a description, and you are the one who decides whether it fits.

It will not give you a timeline, because there isn’t an honest one to give. What it describes is shape, not measurement. The layers do not come apart on their own and they do not come apart in the order you would choose. That is the work, it is real work, and it takes considerably longer than anyone wants.

And it is not therapy. Buying it doesn’t create a professional relationship between us, nothing in it is a way of arriving at a diagnosis or should be used as one, and it is not couples work. If you are working with someone, bring it to them.

It is thirteen pages and it covers the same ground in miniature — what took the load when the porn stopped, and what she has been reading all this time. If it does not land, the course will not either, and you will have saved yourself $197.

When the course does open: fourteen days, no reason required, refunded in full. You will not be asked how much of it you read.

What this is.

Educational material. It is not therapy, it is not couples work, and buying it doesn’t create a professional relationship between us. Nothing here is a way of arriving at a diagnosis and nothing here should be used as one. If you are working with a therapist, bring it to them; if you are not, this may help you work out what kind of support you are looking for.

A note on language.

Throughout, the person with the pattern is “he” and the partner is “she.” The pronouns are for readability, not for exclusion. The substance applies across all relationship configurations.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. In Canada, the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline is available 24/7 — call or text 9-8-8. If you find yourself thinking about ending your life, stop reading and get help the same day.
